About Us

Why Global Studies?

As it says in our school’s mission statement, San Jose Episcopal Day School is dedicated to empowering students to achieve academic excellence built on a Christian foundation, fostering lifelong global and community stewardship.

We want our students to know and understand that there are other cultures out in the world other than our own.  We make up a very small portion of the world, but we don’t usually get to see those other places and the way they live their everyday lives.

Being able to send teachers to a foreign country lets our students see firsthand how other cultures live.  With the technology of today our students are able to interact with those teachers on a daily basis while there.

Mr. Foster

Mr. Foster is a sixth grade Math and History teacher at SJEDS.  He has been teaching here for the past 8 years and has taught 4th grade for the majority of the time.  He  graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.A. in Elementary Education, and taught first grade at Beauclerc Elementary before coming to San Jose.    He loves to play guitar and surf as well as  enjoys all sports, but football and soccer are his favorites- Bocce ball is right up there as one of the greatest games ever played in his opinion.

Mrs. Weaver

Mrs. Weaver is a first grade teacher at SJEDS.  This is her 9th year teaching first grade at San Jose.  She graduated from Samford University with a B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary/Special Education.  In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time with her family, and watch Gator football and basketball.
